While working in the social and political field, the former Sarpanch and first Mayor of Karjat, Hon. Namdev (Deva) Raut and the then Secretary, Late Anand Kalyankar (Taylor) and the current Secretary, Vaibhavsheth Chhajed, established the Samaj Prabodhan Sanstha in the year 1998, considering the growing educational needs in the rural areas.
The Samaj Prabodhan Sanstha, Karjat, Taluka Karjat, District Nagar, started Samarth Secondary School in Karjat in the year 1999 with the aim of providing educational facilities in the rural areas and especially to provide education to the intelligent, talented and ordinary children. Also, the organization started the Higher Secondary School (Arts and Science) in the year 2003. In the year 2014-15, Bharati Public School (E.1st to 5th Sem) was established and in the year 2016, Global English Medium School (C.B.S.C.). Also, Rokdeshwar Secondary School was established in Nandgaon in the academic year 2013-14.
The organization has implemented blood donation camps, cleanliness drives, tree plantation, daughter rescue, public awareness etc. Activities. On the occasion of the birthday of the president of the organization, school supplies are distributed to the poor and needy students of government and private hostels every year.
The organization is paying all kinds of educational expenses of the promising and intelligent children from poor families of Samarth Vidyalaya by the Society Prabodhan Sanstha. Qualified children in the school Players have been created. Various players have been selected at the district division, divisional division, state level, national level. Etc. The results of 10th and 12th exams are above 90% of the individual results. Students who have studied in the institute are working in various fields after taking higher education in Medical, Engineering, B.Sc. Agri, D.Ed. branches.
The aim of the college is not only to provide higher education but also to create an environment that promotes the all-round development of the students to enrich the social, educational and cultural life of the people in the area, to give their lives a definite meaning, and to educate the students by instilling good culture in the students and convincing them of the importance of life values.
The institute has provided education up to degree level in both the arts and science branches in the college.
